New Temps Next Week

Let's see. We've been through a few more temps since last time. Where do they find these people? The last one stayed for just over a week before I canned her. She couldn't follow directions. Even when they were written down. With pictures. I'm so not even kidding.

I'm so stressed out.

I had to get rid of another temp today. She would not stop with the personal phone calls ALL DAY LONG. I had to hear about her putting her dog to sleep, having her truck reposessed, and garnishing her ex-husband's paycheck for back child support. Those were just the highlights. This morning she started at 8:05 and literally made one call after another until I finally had enough around 10:30. I called HR and said GET RID OF HER TODAY.

Now I'm short one worker and I have to drive to freakin' New Jersey tomorrow. I so don't want to do that. Oh, and tonight my car completely died. I drove it to work today with no problems. Came home - everything was fine. Got in it an hour later to go to the gym, and it wouldn't start. At all. Ugh. So I'm renting a car to drive to New Jersey and even though I'm keeping it until Saturday you can bet your ass I'm expensing that shit.

Oh yeah, I colored my hair on Sunday night and I'm still not sure about the results. It came out a LOT redder than I had planned on. I think once the color "calms down" it will be very nice. Right now though it's kind of AAAAHHHHHHH!

The Tivo broke last week. It kept randomly rebooting itself. Luckily there are no new shows on right now or I'd be completely mental. Timmy took care of the problem. He's so smart.

The Gym

So they had this fitness challenge at work. If you signed up you got to use a local gym for free for two months. I signed up and Timmy bought a 3 month membership so he could go with me. We went about 3 times a week all through June and July. I lost 9 pounds! And went from a size 12 to an 8!!!!!! I win!!!! When the challenge was over we decided to join a gym for real. We ended up joining a brand-new one that just opened up right by our house. We're still going about 3 times a week. I want to lose 10 more pounds this year.

I ended up putting a lot of metal on Tim's work out music mix (his request). Then I made one for myself that has a lot of techno. Just thought I'd share that.

We Joined a Gym

True story. I'm making Timmy a Work Out music mix right now. What songs should I put on it? Is "Nothing in this World" by Paris Hilton manly enough?

New Kitten in the HOUSE

On Wednesday night, Timmy took the dogs out for their nightly bathroom break. He came back in and said "Come out here. I hear a kitten." So we went out on the front porch and heard "meow meow meow meow meow." Timmy walked down to the road saying "here kitty kitty kitty" and the little thing ran right up to him. We brought it inside and took a look at it. It's a little boy cat, mostly black with white socks and a white belly. I'm guessing he's around 8 weeks old because he's so little. He's obviously used to people because of the way he came right up to Tim. And why was he out by himself at 10:30 at night?

So we decided to keep him in the house overnight til we could figure out what to do with him. We made him a little home in the bathroom. He has his own food dish and litter box and a couple of cat toys. The dogs were very interested in him at first but the kitten is completely unafraid of them.

It's been a few days since we've had the kitten in the house. None of the neighbors has put up a Missing Kitten sign and we haven't seen them out looking for any lost pets. I asked the people next door if they were missing a kitten and they said no. Honestly I'm reluctant to ask anyone else if this is their kitten. Why was it outside at night where it could walk into the street? Maybe they shouldn't have this kitten back? I figured we would find a good home for it. But Timmy's been saying things like "Three cats really isn't much more trouble than two cats." I think he wants to keep it.

We've started calling it Nathan. Nathan Scott Phillips. That's from the Aqua Teen Hunger Force episode when Meatwad wants a bunny rabbit for his birthday but Master Shake gives him a giant snake instead. Meatwad says "That ain't no damn bunny rabbit" then "I was gonna name him Nathan. Nathan Scott Phillips." I don't know....

New Laptop

Seems to be working okay. Hey, did anyone else just see that totally awesome Peter vs. Giant Chicken fight on Family Guy? What is wrong with the creators of that show anyway?

Changes

Hey there,
I'm getting a new laptop tomorrow so I don't know when I'll be able to post again. Not sure if I'll be able to connect to my internet connection at home... may have to buy a new wireless card...

So anyway, I guess I'll update this when I get it figured out.

WSG Update

Whorish Shoe Girl has been sober for almost 4 months. To celebrate her 3-month anniversary, she bought a pair of $300 Coach sandals. She wore them 4 times and they started to fall apart. So she called the Coach store and got a replacement pair. I wonder what makes her think the new pair will hold up any better?

I'm Back... and I'm Engaged

Uhhh, it's been a while. Been real busy. Yeah, that's it.

What's happened? Probably the biggest news: Timmy and I got engaged! Here's a photo of the ring...



NO, we haven't decided on a date. Next Spring... possibly April.
And that's pretty much the only wedding-type plan we've made.

Office Update: Part 3

Unprofessional Pete got FIRED!!!!! True story, again.

About 3 weeks ago, The Boss was on vacation for a week. The Boss Who Is Kind of a Goober had surgery and was out of the office for 3 days. So that left me, Whorish Shoe Girl and Fancy Hair Girl alone in the office with Unprofessional Pete. Goober asked me to “keep an eye on him” and make sure he “didn’t get out of control.” Whatever that means.

Well, the first part of the week went okay. UP strutted around like HE was The Boss. He asked me to run some reports and I told him I didn’t have time. He pouted a little but didn’t give me any problems. He told Fancy Hair Girl to do some lame stuff that was completely not part of her job and she didn’t know how to do anyway. He had a 45-minute conversation with Whorish Shoe Girl about how long it had been since he’d had sex (this was while I was out at the plant. Apparently it was REALLY loud and several people in other parts of the building could hear it and were offended.)

Remember how I said it takes Fancy Hair Girl a long time to do her work? Well, on Thursday apparently she didn’t do something fast enough for Unprofessional Pete so he yelled at her. In fact, he yelled AND cursed at her. In front of me and WSG.

On Friday afternoon I came back from lunch to find that a stack of checks I’d had sitting on my desk were all disheveled. I asked Fancy Hair Girl if anyone had been at my desk and she said Unprofessional Pete had been rifling through my desk. He went through all the checks, took them OUT OF THE ENVELOPES, and made comments about them. None of those checks were for his vendors. Well that just really pissed me off. I told him to please NOT go through the things on my desk when I’m not there and HE GOT ALL BELLIGERENT WITH ME. Then for the rest of the day he sulked and wouldn’t talk directly to me or even look at me. Which actually worked out great for me because I didn’t have to listen to his disgusting comments any more.

Monday The Boss came back from his vacation. Unprofessional Pete was still pouting and not talking to me (hooray!) I noticed that The Boss Who Is Kind of a Goober was acting a little bit cagey. Then I’m in his office and he whispers “something’s going down today with the Boss and UP… something BAAAAAD….” I’m intrigued. Around 4 o’clock, The Boss calls UP into his office. Sometime while UP was in The Boss’s office, Goober snuck out and went home. I was standing by FHG’s desk when I saw UP come storming out of The Boss’s office into his own. His face was DARK RED. We could see him moving around in his office. The Boss came out and stood in the doorway of UP’s office, watching. I whispered to FHG, “looks like he’s packing!” Sure enough, that’s what he was doing.

On the way home, Goober called me. Want to know the reason UP got fired? It was NOT sexual harassment. OR anything to do with his questionable business deals he had going on the side. Nope, it was fraud. Turns out, he didn’t technically own the house he was trying to sell in his relocation package. Basically, it was an easy way for the company to get rid of him. So I’m not going to question it. Good riddance, douche bag!

Office Update: Part 2

Whorish Shoe Girl quit drinking! True story. She and Paris got completely wasted on New Year’s Eve and had a HUGE fight. They still aren’t really speaking. So anyway, WSG decided to quit drinking and started going to AA meetings. But, I thought one of the A’s was for ANONYMOUS. She comes in to work and tells us everything that happens at the meetings. Like the woman who was high (at an AA meeting!) and peed in her pants and didn’t even notice. And the cute guy who was flirting with WSG. I said, you are not seriously picking up guys at AA?! Such a drama queen. I guess she wasn’t getting enough shock value with her drunken exploits any more. So her new drama is being an alcoholic and going to AA meetings.

Office Update: Part 1

That Girl Who is Friends with the VP has been at work for just over a month. Turns out, I really like her. She’s fun. But she is soooooo young. Only 19. Yeah. This is her first “real” job. She does fine, but it takes her FOREVER to do anything. I seriously don’t know what she’s doing all day. All she has to do is enter the orders as they come in. That’s pretty much it. I’ve done it before, along with all of my other work, and managed to keep up. We’ve had a number of temps run through that position and every one of them said they didn’t have enough to do. So why does it take HER so long? She stays late almost every night and still can’t keep up. So The Boss Who is Kind of a Goober got her a temp to help her out. And yet she STILL hasn’t been able to get everything done. I’ve given her a couple of small things to do and in almost every case I’ve ended up having to do them myself because she didn’t get around to them for several days and they NEEDED to be done. I’ve tried talking to her about setting priorities and not spending too much time on stupid stuff and which things can be put off and which ones can’t. It hasn’t helped. ARGHHHH.
BTW, I’m changing her name from That Girl Who is Friends with the VP to Fancy Hair Girl (she has really fancy hair.) It is so long and curly and thick and luxurious and shampoo-commercial. If I didn’t like her so much, I’d hate her.
